Adoption by the Parliament of a generation contract

Encouraging skills transfer by creating youth - senior partnerships; this is the purpose of the generation contract which targets the recruitment under full-time employment contracts for employees under 26 years of age whilst retaining employees over 57 years of age. On 14 February, this contract was definitively adopted by the Parliament, applicable according to three methods linked to company size. Where a company has fewer than 50 employees, an annual assistance of 4,000 euros is paid for three years per partnership. For between 50 and 300 employees, the assistance amount is conditioned upon a company agreement (if applicable, a related agreement extended to the business activity) or an action plan based upon the situation of young and senior employees within the company. For companies with over 300 employees, no assistance is anticipated, only the obligation, before 30 September, to conclude an agreement or establish an action plan for a generation contract concerning commitments in terms of employment of youth and seniors.
