Two additional years for Credit Mediation

The credit mediation mechanism was developed in October 2008 to facilitate and streamline negotiations between banks and companies when making requests for credit or credit renewal. First extended from 2011 to 2012, credit mediation was then renewed until the end of 2014, following an agreement signed on 1 March 2013 among the State, the Banque de France and banks. Since its creation, 38,000 companies have referred matters to credit mediation, 27,000 cases have been dealt with and closed, which is a 62% success rate. With 4.23 billion euros, the mechanism has enabled the retention of approximately 293,000 jobs. This figure shows the positive reception of Credit Mediation by the stakeholders themselves, namely companies and banks. Since the beginning of 2013, Jeanne-Marie Prost succeeded Gérard Rameix as the head of Credit Mediation.
