Reduction of 17% in referrals to credit mediation in 2014

According to its report published on 18 March 2015, requests sent to Credit Mediation decreased by 17% in 2014.

In 2014, 372 million euros of credit were released thanks to Credit Mediation. Of 2200 developed files, more than half (58%) ended successfully for the applicant company.

Note that TPE-SMEs represented 97% of the files handled by the body, with strong variations in the volume of requests by business sector: 38% are service companies (hotels, real estate); 30% belong to the business sector; 17% in the construction industry and 12% in industry. This, in 2014, a little less than two files in three (60%) involved amounts of less than 50,000 euros and mainly involved short-term credit lines.

In explanation of this reduction, several hypotheses can be advanced, such as the fear of business managers to undertake investments, the increase in power of the tax credit for employment competitiveness (CICE) or better credit access for SMEs for the year 2014.
