Study market: slight fall in 2012 compared with 2011

In 2012, the accumulated turnover for French survey institutes was 2 billion euros, which is a fall of 1.3% compared to 2011. This is what was observed in a report published by Syntec Etudes.
However, professionals in the sector are not alarmed: "all sectors inclusive, all national markets are down by 5%", explains Luc Laurentin, president of Syntec Marketing & Opinion Polls putting this slight fall into some perspective. This is all the more the case since circa one fifth of activities in the survey sector is undertaken, in his opinion, internationally (18%). 
Moreover and according to the same report, qualitative surveys do not raise the same level of enthusiasm as quantitative. Ad hoc quantitative surveys represent 75% of the overall market, whilst qualitative surveys represent 11% of demand.
