Lawyers and bailiffs unite to facilitate their work and increase responsiveness in civil matters

An exhaustive protocol pertaining to use of an electronic schedule of hearings before an investigating judge has just been signed by three Parisian institutions: the chamber of justice, the district court and the bar association.
Since 2 September 2013, lawyers can, firstly, contact their Parisian bailiffs via a dedicated telephone line in order to agree, with the latters, in real time, on the hearing date. Bailiffs can then immediately reserve the date in the registry office's electronic diary. Subsequently, the summons is then sent by email to the lawyer within 48 hours (after being served on the opposing party by email).
