European seminar at the Council of State

This was the first meeting between two institutions: the legal department of the European Parliament and the Council of State. It took place on 20 February, at the initiative of the deputy chair of the Council of State. This visit by a delegation from the legal department of the European Parliament resulted in a seminar during which the missions and working methods of both institutions were presented, as well as the interactions between European Union law and national law, convergences in case law by the European judge and the national judge in difficulties with implementation of directives which may be faced by Member States... European Union law has a major place in consultative and dispute training activities at the Council of State, with thorough knowledge of the formation and application processes of European standards appearing to be of increasing importance.
