Chartered accountants assist the general public in their tax returns for 2012. In May 2013, at the headquarters of the Order of Chartered Accountants in Paris or by telephone, taxpayers in the Parisian region were able to receive free consultations with professionals. This initiative, already in progress in 2012, allowed response to over 3,000 taxpayers, with 2,600 by telephone and 400 face-to-face. Chartered accountants could be asked about tax returns or for counsel on wealth management. Thorough knowledge of the tax system also allowed them to render counsel on tax reduction.
